Welcome to Ms. B’s Second Grade!

Hayley joined the NCSA community in 2018. She is grateful to be part of a supportive and caring learning community. Hayley received her bachelor’s degree from UC Santa Cruz and her teaching credential from Chico State. She loves working with learners of all ages and looks forward to sharing her passion for learning with her students. Her classroom is a rich space where students can explore their curiosities and learn to make real-world connections. As a teacher, Hayley finds it important to connect with her student’s interests and experiences so that she can learn how to best support their personal and academic growth in meaningful ways. She sees each student as a unique individual with something valuable to contribute to our learning community.

 

Hayley’s heart and mind are always open and ready to learn. When she is not in the classroom, you can find her spending time in nature with her partner Jess. She loves to spend her time hiking, camping, cooking, gardening, traveling, reading and playing with dogs!

We work hard to nurture strong, caring, and understanding relationships between and with our students by learning how to be mindful community members. We develop community by learning about one another through our similarities and differences. Our experiences are rich and diverse, and we celebrate that!

We will work together to create a happy, safe, and engaging learning environment that is full of compassion. We will specifically focus on how to ‘be’ in second grade during the first six weeks of school, where we will establish expectations and routines together. Please be patient as we gradually and intentionally transition into our academic routine.
